North Palm Wrestling

North Palm Wrestling (NPW), is an American sketch comedy troupe from North Palm Beach, Florida. The official members are Jason Selvig, Gregory Kohn, John Anderson, and Ben Buzard. Their sketches often poke fun at relevant and controversial issues including politics, racism, sexism, celebrity, terrorism, and advertising.

In April 2007, their pilot was picked up by MTV as a new web-based series and blog. This current version of NPW can be seen on MTV's website. MTV also distributes the sketches through its VOD offerings on cable systems. Other sketches are available on their old website.

History

NPW began as a group of backyard wrestlers in the late 1990s. They staged WWE-style fights in Jason Selvig's backyard, nicknamed "The Selvigdome Arena." Once most of the members had enrolled in college, they began making comedy skits for their friends during winter and summer breaks, and were thus reinvented into a video-based comedy troupe.

In 2005, they decided to make a television pilot, which was written by Jason Selvig and directed by Gregory Kohn. The pilot caught the attention of some executives, and led to their relationship with MTV.
